140 RECOVERED COVID-19 PATIENTS LEAVE HOSPITALS-NOCPCO

As of this morning (31), a total of 633 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them were from locally-identified affectees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO). By 6.00 this morning (31), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory stands at 6,946. Of them, 1041 are factory employees and other 5,905 are locally-identified contacts of those garment factory-infected employees. The flight EY 264 from Abu Dhabi with 6 passengers and the flight QR 688 from Doha, Qatar with 12 passengers have arrived in Colombo. All those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport. Within the day (31), 508 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 5 persons are from Nipuna Boossa QC, 4 persons from Habaraduwa Police building QC, 2 persons from Waskaduwa Citrus Hotel QC, 28 persons from Koggala Resort Hotel QC, 71 persons from Hotel Eden Garden QC, 2 persons from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, 32 persons from from MRS Diyatalawa QC, 2 persons from Diytatalawa Holiday Bungalow QCs,110 persons from Peradeniya Teachers ' Training School QC, 23 persons from Polgolla QC, 17 persons from Pallekele QC, 34 persons from Periyakadu QC and 178 persons from Kopay Teachers ' Training School QC. To-date, 60,079 individuals have left for homes after quarantining. As of this morning (31), 5,760 persons in 60 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (30), 12,106 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 502,669. By 6.00 this morning (29), 140 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. Of them, 3 persons were from foreign lands and other 137 persons are identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees who were in quarantine at QCs. (Ends)
