90 MORE LOCALLY- IDENTIFIED CLOSE CONTACTS, NOW IN QUARANTINE - NOCPCO

By this morning (13), a total of 92 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were two foreigners from Turkey in quarantine at Seeduwa Werenta QC and remaining 90 were locally-identified close contacts of Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO). By 6.00 this morning (13), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory is 1397. The flight EY 264 from Abu Dhabi with 08 passengers , the flight QR 688 from Doha, Qatar with 48 passengers and the flight 6E 9034 from India with 05 passengers have arrived this morning (13) and those passengers were to be sent to QCs for necessary quarantining. Within the day (13), 547 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 04 persons are from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, 55 persons from hotel Jetwing Beach, 02 persons from Mount Lavinia Hotel QC, 54 persons from Hotel Dolphin QC, 05 persons from Rajagiriya Ayurvedic QC, 116 persons from Sigiriya QC, 52 persons from Sunshine Resort QC, 110 persons from Eco - Surf Hotel QC in Bentota, 134 from Hotel Awani Bentota QC, 11 persons from Nipuna Boosa QC, and 04 from Ruwala Hotel QC in Kalpitiya. Likewise, 51,480 individuals by this morning (13) have so far left home after quarantining. As of this morning (13), 10,281 persons in 90 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (12), 6648 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 335,752. By 6.00 this morning (13), 10 fully recovered COVID-19-affected persons went back home from the hospital. They were expatriates who were in quarantine. (Ends)
