General Jagath Jayasuriya, the Chief of Defence Staff was accorded a guard of honour on 15 June 2015 when he called on the Commander of the Army prior to his relinquishment of duties of the CDS. During the call on, the CDS thanked the Commander of the Army for the assistance given to him during his tenure. The CDS had tea with the Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters and bade farewell to Army Headquarters. General Jagath Jayasuriya is due to hand over the duties to Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunetilleke on 16 June.
