AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ADVISER MEETS ARMY CHIEF

Captain Ian Cain, Defence Adviser at High Commission of Australia in Colombo this afternoon (20) called at the Army Headquarters and met General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

After a warm welcome, both of them discussed general matters, related to defence cooperation as well as preventive measures against COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka.

General Shavendra Silva thanked the visiting envoy for his own initiatives in the sphere of training and the general support received from him. Towards the end of the cordial meeting, General Shavendra Silva symbolized the goodwill that prevails between both organizations awarding a special memento to the Australian envoy.
