BRITISH TRAINING DELEGATION CALLS ON THE CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF

A training delegation from United Kingdom headed by Royal Navy Captain Stuart Andrew Borland, designate Nonresident Defence Adviser (NRDA) and Lieutenant Colonel Jamie Hartley from Defence Academy in Shriven ham, calls on the Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke on 14 December 2015 at the Office of the Chief of the Defence Staff BMICH Colombo. Head of the delegation was accompanied by Mr. Daniel Matthews, the Foreign Desk Liaison Officer of Foreign Office London, presently attached to the British High Commission in Colombo. The meeting was held to discuss future military training relationship and particularly the responsibility of delivering a course entitled Managing Defence in the Wider Security Context (MDWSC) in Sri Lanka in the early pan of 2016. During the cordial discussion, Chief of the Defence Staff expressed his deepest gratitude to the United Kingdom for this initiative which would immensely benefited for the Sri Lankan Armed Forces to avail more training opportunities in the United Kingdom. This was followed by a discussion of the delegation with the heads of training of Tri Servicers and the Director General General Staff of the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff to finalize the matter.
