CDS ADDRESSES THE OCDS STAFF IN FIRST WORKING DAY CEREMONY
Ceremony to mark the first working day of the year 2015 was held in the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff at 0900 hours today. The ceremony which was held in line with the Public Administration Circular that called on all the government institutions to hold a special ceremony to emphasize the necessity of inculcating an attitudinal change in all public servants for committing to transform Sri Lanka as an emerging economy in Asia. The ceremony commenced with General Jagath Jayasuriya, the Chief of Defence Staff hoisting the National Flag and all present singing the National Anthem thereafter. After observing a 2 minute silence to honour the nation 's fallen heroes, Oath of Public Servants were read aloud by all present with pride. The official ceremony concluded with the Chief of Defence Staff address which emphasised on the necessity of ensuring the prompt, honest and unwavering contribution of all members of the staff, in the effort of transforming Sri Lanka as an Emerging Economy in Asia.
