General Jagath Jayasuriya, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS)returned to Sri Lanka on 20 March 2015, after 4 day visit to Malaysia where he attended the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2015 (LIMA 2015) held in the Langkawi resort island. A large number of top rung military decision makers from across the globe took part in the discussions and the exhibition held from 16th to 21st March. CDS inspected the maritime and aerospace products that had been displayed by leading defence manufacturers of the world. The Fleet Review and the Air Show were main parts of the exhibition which attracted the attention of the delegates. The CDS called on the Malaysian Chief of Defence Force (CDF) and had cordial discussions about improving defence relations between the two militaries. Malaysian CDF, General Zulkifeli Bin Mohommed Zin confirmed to CDS that Malaysian Armed Forces would host the second South and South East Asian Nations (SASEAN) Defence Chiefs Dialogue in 2015. SASEAN Defence Chiefs Dialogue is the brainchild of General Jagath Jayasuriya and the inaugural meeting was held in Colombo in November 2014. On the sidelines of the Exhibition the CDS also met his counter parts from Brunei, Cambodia, Maldives, Thailand and Timor Leste and many other senior military leaders from the region and the globe.
