CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, RADIOLOGICAL AND NUCLEAR FIRST RESPONDER COURSE

The Office of the Chief of Defence Staff in collaboration with Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, National Authority for the Implementation of Chemical Weapons Convention in Sri Lanka and the Country office of World Health Organization has successfully conducted a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) First Responder Course from 15-19 May 2017 at RHQ SLAC Camp Mutuwal. Training programme was focused on providing essential information on CBRN threats, CBRN incident management procedures, self protective methods and level of preparedness of first responders. Forty Tri Service Lt Col/Major equivalent rank Officers participated in the programme.\r\n\r\n Some eminent resource personnel; Mr Anuradha Jayalath and Mr Prasad Mahakumara of Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, Mr. KAL Wasantha, Mrs. IND Warnakulasooriya and Mr. MID Ashok of National Authority for the Implementation of Chemical Weapons Convention in Sri Lanka and Consultant Community Physician Doctor Sugandika Perera of Country Office of the WHO conducted the programme.\r\n\r\n Major General NA Darmaratne, Director General General Staff and Director General Training and Doctrine of OCDS who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest awarded certificates to participants during a presentation ceremony, held on 19 May 2017 at the SLAC auditorium.\r\n
