CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF ADDRESSES DSCSC STUDENTS

Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke addressed the student officers of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) on 15th December 2015. It is customary for the Chief of Defence Staff, the highest ranking military officer in the country to address the student officers of DSCSC course to share his views on a topic of strategic importance. In his address, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke explained the dismal situation of the country before the commencement of the Humanitarian Operations and brought out remarkable milestones that the country has achieved in terms of stability and development. He highlighted three key ingredients as political will, leadership and jointness that enable the full potential of the Military led towards the eradication of terrorism in Sri Lanka. He also included important aspects of military leadership and five fundamental factors of war. The address was terminated with a question and answer session. Major General Udaya Perera,the Commandant of the DSCSC presented a memento to mark the occasion which was reciprocated by the Chief of Defence Staff. Thereafter, the CDS interacted with the faculty of the DSCSC and International Students at tea held at the Officers Mess.
