CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF ATTENDS THE ARFRO MEMBERS’ GET-TOGETHER 2022

At the invitation extended by the President, Major General L C R Goonewardene (Retd) RSP VSV USP and members of the Association of Retired Flag Rank Officers (ARFRO), the Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil graced the Get-together organised by the members of the ARFRO as a Guest of Honour. The spectacular event was held at Air Force Officers’ Mess, Tunmulla, Colombo, on 25th September 2022.

The get-together was also graced by the presence of the Secretary of Defence and Tri-Forces Commanders as Guests of Honour. Adding more glamour to the event, former Tri-Forces Commanders and many flag rank retired senior officers were present at the occasion.

Delivering the welcome address, the President of the ARFRO conveyed his special gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff for his continuous guidance and assistance extended to the Association. He further elaborated that the ARFRO could reach many milestones in accomplishing its goals during General Shavendra Silva’s tenure at the office of Commander of the Army and Chief of Defence Staff.

Attending the event as a guest of Honour, the Chief of Defence Staff expressed his gratitude for the untiring commitment and numerous sacrifices made by the Flag Rank Officers for the betterment of the nation.
