THE CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF AWARDS PARCHMENTS TO THE GRADUATES OF THE INAUGURAL LOGISTICS STAFF COURSE
General Jagath Jayasuriya, the Chief of Defence Staff graced the graduation ceremony of the inaugural Logistics Staff Course in Sri Lanka conducted by the Army School of Logistics, Trincomalee. 24 officers representing logistics regiments of Sri Lanka Army received their graduation parchments at the ceremony held at the Defence Services College premises in Colombo.\r\n\r\nGeneral Jayasuriya 's presence as the Chief Guest was most befitting since the Army School of Logistics was inaugurated in 2011 on his initiative as the Commander of the Army. In his speech, General Jayasuriya congratulated Sri Lanka Army for the successful conduct of the Logistics Staff Course and emphasized that the Army School of Logistics is an all arms asset and should not be confined to the logisticians alone. He further said that the vision for the Army School of Logistics should extend to provide the Army with all arms officers thorough in logistic planning and delivery. Major KCK Jayasinghe psc SLASC won the award for topping the Order of Merit and Major MSR Mohamed SLEME won the award for the Best Logistics Planner. Both awards were presented to the winners by General J Jayasuriya.
