TO-DATE 64,263 QUARANTINED INDIVIDUALS HAVE GONE HOME-NOCPCO

As of this morning (11), a total of 430 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them were from locally-identified affectees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO). By 6.00 this morning (11), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory stands at 11,237. Of them, 1,041 are factory employees, 1,007 persons from Peliyagoda Fish Market and other 9,189 are locally-identified contacts of those garment factory-infected employees and from the Fish Market. The flight EK 648 from Dubai with 50 passengers arrived last night (10), the flight ET 8804 from Ethiopia with 110 passengers and the flight UL226 with 270 passengers from Dubai arrived this morning (11) and the flight UL1024 flight from India is expected to land from Mumbai. The passengers were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport. Within the day (11), 08 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 01 is from Dikwella Resort Quarantine Centre, 02 persons are from Hotel Wind Beach Quarantine Centre and 05 persons from Rachel Resort Kalpitiya QC. To-date, 64,263 individuals have left for homes after quarantining. As of this morning (11), 2,277 persons in 28 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (10), 8,272 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 619,108. By 6.00 this morning (11), 657 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. 656 of them are identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees who were in quarantine at QCs and one person is an expatriate.
