GENERAL SHAVENDRA SILVA ATTENDS THE FINAL RITES OF ATAMASTHANADHIPATHI

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil along with Mrs Sujeewa Nelson attended the state sponsored final rites today (22 October) to pay final respects to the most venerable (Dr) Pallegama Siriniwasa Thero who had rendered a monumental service to the Buddhism and the citizenry.

Most venerable (Dr) Pallegama Siriniwasa Thero who was the Custodian and Chief Priest of the Maha Bodho and ‘Atamasthanadipathi’ passed away on last Tuesday (18 October) at the age of 69.
