A GENEROUS ENDEAVOUR FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

With the directions and coordination of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, a donation of 210 dry ration packs for the needy families of the Baddegama area, took place at the Baddegama Dutugemunu Raja Maha Viharaya on Thursday, 22 September.

As a continuation of the social welfare programme launched by the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Office of Chief of Defence Staff, this donation organized under the patronage of Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, the President of the OCDS Seva Vanitha Branch was graced by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva.

The generous contribution and assistance for this end were extended by Mr Nanda & Mrs Rajini Jagoda who presently reside in New York.

General Officer Commanding, 61 Div, the Director Admin of the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch of OCDS were also present at the occasion.
