INDIAN DEFENCE ADVISERS RENEW MILITARY RELATIONS

Renewing the long rooted bilateral military relations between the two neighbouring countries, the Indian Defence Adviser in Sri Lanka Captain (IN) Vikas Sood and the Assistant Defence Adviser Lt Col Puneeth Sushil paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil today (18 May 2023) at his office.

The warm reception and discussion took place based on the existing bilateral defence ties and to ensure the regional security promoting the socio-economic benefits to both the countries. During the discussion, CDS briefed and updated the Indian DAs on the present situation in the country where the visiting DAs commended the continued effort of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces towards the nation. The discussion also provided an opportunity to share knowledge on diverse fields related to the military.

The cordial meeting terminated with the assurance of continued collaboration in time to come.
