The first Leadership Workshop for Unit Commanders for the year 2016 developed by the Intercontinental Institute of Human Resource Management (IIHRM) under the guidance of the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff was successfully conducted from 15th to 19th February 2016 at the Auditorium at RHQ SLAC. Senior officers from the Tri services, functioning as Unit Commanders or equivalent appointments participated at the workshop.\r\n\r\nThis was the 7th in a series of similar programmes have been conducted during the past period of time. The workshop focussed on problem solving and innovative thinking, communication and innovative skills, understanding the personality of the military and mapping a service delivery philosophy. It was aimed to add currency and value to current leadership practices in the military.\r\n\r\nThe programme conducted by Mr. Ranjeewa Kulatunga, HR Advisor & Managing Director/Chief Consultant at IIHRM, along with some of the leading personalities in the respective fields namely Mr. Sujith Bandulahewa, Mr. Mahesh Amarasiri and Mr. Kumara Galhenage.\r\n\r\nCertificates were awarded to the officers who took part in the programme by the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the presentation ceremony which was held at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff on 19th February 2016.\r\n
