NATIONAL SPORTS SELECTION COMMITTEE ASSEMBLES AT OCDS

Chairing the session, the Chief of Defence Staff and head of the committee, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, welcomed the committee members for the meeting held at the conference hall of OCDS on 08 November 2022.

At the meeting that was held routinely, the CDS appreciated the presence of committee members and reviewed the progress of the proceedings. Further, the CDS conveyed his special thanks to the committee members for visiting the selection trials which have immensely encouraged the national sports men and women for giving the opportunity for a fair assessment. He also highlighted the need of categorizing high performing players on the perspective field of sports who have the meddle prospects at the international sporting events. The CDS further assured his presence at the forthcoming selection trials.

This monthly meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Committee Mr Arjun Rishya Fernando, Dr Maiya Gunasekara, Mr Sanath Jayasooriya and Ms Thilaka Jinadasa.
