NAVY ON STANDBY FOR FLOOD RELIEF DUTIES

Responding to the torrential rains experiencing in the island, the Sri Lanka Navy has deployed their Rapid Response Rescue & Relief Unit (4RU) at the flood prone areas in Nagoda and Thawalama Divisional Secretariats in the Galle District yesterday (May 13).

Navy also said 4RU teams were deployed in the Bulathsinhala Divisional Secretariat in the Kalutara District and preparing to assist possible floods following heavy rains in the region.

Further, SLN has sent another 4RU team to the Rathnapura for relief duties to act promptly, if the situation gets worsen, the SLN said.
