General Jagath Jayasuriya, newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) assumed duties on Friday (2) morning as the third CDS at his office, Colombo 7.\r\n\r\nLieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, new Commander of the Army, senior officers representing Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force were present at the occasion.\r\n\r\nAfter placing his signature for an official document, the new Chief of Defence Staff symbolized the formal assumption of duties.
