OCDS CONDUCTS THE 4TH CONSECUTIVE CBRN PREVENTATIVE AND RESPONDER COURSE FOR TRI-SERVICES

The Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services and National Authority for the Implementation of Chemical Weapons Convention, conducted the 4th Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) Preventative and Responder Course for Tri-Services personnel from 21st March to 25th March 2022.

Chief Guest, Major General Ajith Dissanayake RWP RSP USP ndu, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff during his opening remarks on 21st March 2022 thanked the Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, for initiating and facilitating to conduct this CBRN course for the 4th successive time. Chief Guest further stressed the importance of acquiring knowledge on these areas for Tri Service personnel as the First Responders of the nation.

The Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps at Rock House Muttuval facilitated for 37 officers from Tri Services: Army (15), Navy (14), Air Force (10)- in the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel to Brigadier and equivalent to successfully complete the course.

Air Vice Marshal AP Balasooriya USP MMS MDS psc who graced the closing ceremony awarded certificates for participation for all participants.
