Under the thoughtful coordination of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, and with the generous support of the District Council of the Interact Club of Sri Lanka and the Maldives, essential goods parcels were distributed to the civilian staff of the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS). This initiative exemplified a heartfelt commitment to their welfare and well-being.
A total of 30 civilian staff members of the OCDS benefited from this meaningful effort. The event was further enriched by the presence of 13 officials and student members of the Interact Club, representing St. Peter’s College Colombo, St. Anthony’s College Kandy, and Trinity College Kandy. Their active participation underscored a deep sense of solidarity and devotion to this noble cause, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting the civilian staff serving in military institutions.
The CDS highly appreciated their initiative and commended the Interact Club members and officials for their generosity and dedication. He emphasized the importance of such collaborative efforts in fostering goodwill and strengthening the bond between the military and society, encouraging continued engagement in similar noble endeavours.
