STATE MINISTER VISITS TRINCOMALEE NAVAL INSTALLATION

During his visit to the Eastern region the Sate Minster of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene visited the Sri Lanka Navy installation in Trincomalee on the 08th (February 2015). The Minster was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff and the tri forces Commanders. Upon arriving at the naval facility the Minister was received by the Commander of the Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral PADR Perera. The Minister was also accorded a Guard of Honour by the naval troops. During his visit to the naval dockyard, he boarded naval vessel SLNS Sagara for inspection. He also visited other facilities at the sprawling naval camp. The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera presented the Minister a plaque as a memento to mark his visit to the naval camp. Minister Wijewardene also signed the visitor 's book there. Later he planted a tree sapling at the Navy House. He also took a boat ride around the naval facility for further inspection.
