Secretary to Ministry of Defence General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), together with the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva, Navy Commander, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka His Excellency Qi Zhenhong, Chinese Embassy Officials and Senior Tri service Military Officers were at the Colombo International Airport this morning (29) to bid goodbye to General Wei Fenghe, Chinese State Councillor and Defence Minister of People 's Republic of China who was in Sri Lanka on a two-day official visit.

A combined delegation of Defence Attaches from Colombo-based High Commissions and Embassies of Russia, US, Australia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Maldives during a tour to Jaffna called at the Security Force HQ - Jaffna and had a cordial meeting with Major General Senarath Bandara, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna on Sunday (13) in order to receive an update on COVID-19 developments, general security matters and civil-military projects, being carried out by the Security Forces in the peninsula.

The annual national Pakistan Day (23 March) Military Parade also known as the National Day Joint Services Parade that commemorates the resolution for creation of Pakistan honoured Sri Lanka 's Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva inviting him to be the Guest of Honour at the spectacular commemorative celebration, graced by the President of Pakistan, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Navy Staff, Chief of Air Force Staff and a host of other foreign and local dignitaries in Islamabad.
