The State Minister of Defence, Honourable Premitha Bandara Tennakoon graced the occasion as the chief guest.

In a solemn turn of events, Brigadier Sanjeewa Perera RWP RSP USP, a senior officer from the Gemunu Watch (GW), passed away on 14 November following a brief illness. The unfortunate incident occurred during the training programme conducted at Uwa Kudaoya prior to the ‘Exercise MITRA SHAKTI’ that is to be held in India. Brigadier Sanjeewa Perera, aged 53, held the position of Air Mobile Brigade Commander at the time of his untimely demise.
