The day prior to the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), in his arrival the Commandant of IMA, Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra AVSM conducted a briefing about IMA with the presence of General Officer Commandingin-Chief of Indian Army’s Western Command, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar AVSM. Thereafter, the commandant IMA requested CDS to observe the training facilities and extracurricular amenities at IMA, including the library, swimming facilities, sports grounds, and club activities. During the visit, the CDS expressed admiration for the state-of-the-art facilities and the wellorganized training schedules implemented at IMA.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil received a prestigious honour from the National Defence College, India. General Shavendra Silva is the current Chief of Defence Staff of Sri Lanka. He is a highly decorated officer with over 39 years of experience in defence sector. General Shavendra Silva has served in various capacities, including Chief of Staff and Commander of the Sri Lanka Army.
