595 FULLY RECOVERED LEAVE HOSPITALS – NOCPCO

As of this morning (10), a total of 356 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them were from locally-identified affectees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO). By 6.00 this morning (10), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory stands at 10,807. Of them, 1,041 are factory employees, 1,007 persons from Peliyagoda Fish Market and other 8,759 are locally-identified contacts of those garment factory-infected employees and the Fish Market. The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 12 passengers, the flight EY 264 with 16 passengers from Dubai and the flight UL 218 with 6 passengers arrived in Colombo. The passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport. Within the day (10), 38 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 35 persons are from Navy Buwaneka QC, 1 person from Citrus Hotel QC–Waskkaduwa and 02 persons from Hotel Blue Waters QC. To-date, 64,075 individuals have left for homes after quarantining. As of this morning (10), 2,362 persons in 27 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (9), 7,986 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 610,836. By 6.00 this morning (10), 595 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. All of them are identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees who were in quarantine at QCs
