ADMIRAL RAVINDRA C. WIJEGUNARATNE ASSUMES DUTIES AS CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF
Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne WV, RWP & Bar, RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psn assumed duties as the Chief of Defence Staff at CDS office, BMICH, Colombo 7 today (22nd August 2017).
In honour of being elevated to the most senior military position of Sri Lankan Armed Forces, Admiral Wijegunaratne was accorded with a Tri-Services Guard of Honour at the BMICH premises.
The new CDS placed his signature on an official document symbolizing the formal assumption of duties.
