ALL CEYLON JAMIYYATHUL ULAMA CELEBRATES THE CENTURY OF SERVICE

The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) celebrated its 100 years of service at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) today (19 January 2023). The celebration was graced by Honorable President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the chief guest and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena as the special guest.

The ACJU has organised a number of events around the country this week in line with the 100 years of service to the Muslim Community and the Nation. The centenary celebrations mainly focused on promoting co-existence and unity. The other main areas of focus according to the General Secretary was a better understanding to the public about the services provided by the ACJU, uplift education and support endeavours of the Government on efforts at socio-economic uplift.

The speech delivered by the Chief Guest was followed by launching of the Official Stamp at the century celebrations ceremony. Commemorating the services towards humanity by the Religious Scholars of Sri Lanka, the Secretary of Jamiatul Ulama South Africa Moulana Ebrahim Ismail Bham attended the celebrations as the Guest Speaker.

The event was also attended by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil along with many representatives of Sri Lankan Parliament.
