ARMY GLITTERS NELUM POKUNA WITH CHRISTMAS CAROLS

The Army Christian Fellowship hosted its ‘Christmas Carols 2023’ last evening (21st December) at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre in Colombo, coinciding with the festive season.

This calendar event is organised by the Sri Lanka Army Christian Fellowship annually and this year’s ceremony was graced by General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence as the Chief Guest.

General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), attended the event as Guest of Honour with his spouse, Mrs. Sujeewa Nelson, upon the invitation of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu and extended warm congratulations to the Commander of the Army and the Army Christian Fellowship for their excellently presented choir.

This evening blended with a unique experience was offered to the audience as members of the Army Band performed odes dedicated to Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. In parallel to the celebrations, gift parcels were also distributed among the children of the Army Christian families.

The gathering was inclusive, welcoming past Army Commanders, Commanders of the Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force, senior officers and members from the Sri Lanka Army, regardless of their religious affiliations.
