AUTOBIOGRAPHY ‘MIHIDAN NOVU MINISA’ CEREMONIALLY LAUNCHES

The autobiography ‘Mihidan Novu Minisa’ authored by the senior war veteran Brigadier Ranjan Wijedasa WWV RSP USP ndc psc was launched at the Auditorium of Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Mutwal, Colombo 15 yesterday (28 Sep 23) under the gracious presence of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil.

Attending the ceremony at the cordial invitation extended by Brigadier Ranjan Wijedasa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil congratulated the author at this milestone. He further stressed this type of literature is a timely need as they effectively share and transfer the experience on the battlefield to future generations. General Shavendra Silva also invited the author to continue the literature work in the future as well.

Brigadier Ranjan Wijedasa is a veteran senior officer of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and played a pivotal role in the operations launched to liberate the motherland from the ruthless clutches of LTTE. The senior Officer was severely wounded in the battle in Puliyankulam and lost his left arm as a result. The book contains gripping stories about his battlefield heroics and experiences blended with numerous challenges and difficulties. Presently Brigadier Ranjan Wijedasa serves as a Senior Directing Staff of the National Defence College.

The ceremony was also attended by retired and serving Tri-Service senior officers, family members, and a number of distinguished invitees.
