Commodore Mohamed Shafiul Bari, Defence AttachÃ© at the High Commission of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters on Wednesday (5).
Discussions that ensued largely focused on sound bilateral relations that prevail between both military organizations and possibilities for further improvement in regard to training modules for tri servicemen in Sri Lanka, in addition to what has already been granted by the Bangladesh Army. The meeting also touched on other matters of relevance.
General Shavendra Silva gratefully acknowledged the understanding and the cooperation, being extended by Bangladesh counterparts to the Army throughout last couples of years and expressed his desire to further promote such ties in future in the training sphere, etc. Prior to their departure, the visiting Commodore also inquired into the status quo of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka and other pandemic concerns.
