BRIGADIER GENERAL RICK URIBE, USMC CALLS-ON THE CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF

Deputy Commanding General, of the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command in Bagdad, Brigadier General Rick A. Uribe, USMC met with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne this morning (11th November, 2017). The call-on was made at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) at the BMICH. During the cordial discussion held, Admiral Wijegunaratne expressed his profound gratitude for the US in steaming-up the acquisition process of the Secretary Class Cutter to the Navy. The CDS further reiterated the assistance of the USMC in the formations of Sri Lanka Navy 's Marine Battalions earlier this year. Subsequent to the discussion held mementos were also exchanged signifying the occasion. Ms. Karen Glelsner, Deputy Defence Attaché to Sri Lanka and Captain J. Goldstein, US Marine Corps was also present at the occasion. Brigadier General Rick Uribe is the Deputy Commanding General -Bagdad of the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command - Operation Inherent Resolve, Iraq. Brigadier General Uribe is a Naval Marine commissioned in 1989 and is also an aviator with over 4000 mishap free flight hours under his wings. He was selected to his present rank and assumed duties as the Inspector General of the Marine Corps in August 2015.
