CDS ATTENDS THE OCCASION OF ASSUMING OF DUTIES BY THE NEW STATE MINISTER OF DEFENCE

The Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil attended the occasion of assuming of office by the newly appointed State Minister of Defence, Hon Pramitha Bandara Thennakoon on 12 Sep 22. The simple ceremony was taken place at the premises of Disaster Management Centre amidst religious blessings.

Sharing his views, the new State Minister of Defence emphasised that the economic stability to be achieved while ensuring National Security, Political Stability and maintaining Law and Order.

Former Minister and Parliamentarian Hon Janaka Bandara Thennakoon, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Tri-forces Commanders and number of national security authorities were present at the occasion.
