CDS INSPECTS US-SLN MARINES ' JOINT TRAINING IN TRINCOMALEE
Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne paid a visit to Sri Lanka Navy Marines Headquarters in Sampoor, Trincomalee to inspect the training of Sri Lanka and United States Navy Marines on 25th August 2018. US Naval Ship USS Anchorage also arrived in Trincomalee harbour to assist the joint training. The 208.5 meter long vessel has a displacement of 25000 tons and a crew of 600 naval persons. The training is focused on convoy operations, urban fighting, non leathel weapons and field tactics which benefited around 250 SLN and 200 US Navy Marines. \r\n
