CDS PAYS FINAL RESPECTS TO LATE AIR MOBILE BRIGADE COMMANDER BRIGADIER SANJEEWA PERERA

In a solemn turn of events, Brigadier Sanjeewa Perera RWP RSP USP, a senior officer from the Gemunu Watch (GW), passed away on 14 November following a brief illness. The unfortunate incident occurred during the training programme conducted at Uwa Kudaoya prior to the ‘Exercise MITRA SHAKTI’ that is to be held in India. Brigadier Sanjeewa Perera, aged 53, held the position of Air Mobile Brigade Commander at the time of his untimely demise.

General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Chief of Defence Staff, paid his heartfelt tributes to the late Brigadier Sanjeewa Perera at Jayaratne Respect Funeral Parlour, Borella, where the distinguished officer's remains are laid to rest. General Shavendra Silva extended his deepest sympathies to the grieving family members and oversaw the necessary arrangements.

The funeral ceremony of Brigadier Sanjeewa Perera is scheduled to take place on the evening of Friday, 17 November, at Borella General Cemetery. The ceremony will be conducted with the utmost military honors, underscoring the respect and gratitude for the late Senior Officer’s over 31 years of dedicated service to the Sri Lanka Army and the nation.
