CDS PRESENTS ESSENTIAL MEDICINE TO APEKSHA HOSPITAL

Being some relief for the urgent medical needs of the Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil handed over needy medicine to the representative of the hospital, Dr Roshan Amarathunga at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) on 27 September 2023.

The donation was coordinated by Mr Algewattage Diego Silva, the Vice President of the Independence Union of Sri Lanka in Toscana, Italy and a consignment of Medicine was sent to the OCDS recently. General Shavendra Silva stated that this is a continuation of the assistance extended to the health sector of the country in times of need.

Accepting the donation ceremonially, the doctor conveyed his gratitude to the CDS on behalf of the hospital authority. He further emphasised that endeavours of this nature are a timely need.
