CDS TAKES PART IN SHANGRI- LA DIALOGUE

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne returned to the Island today (3rd) having taken part in the Shangri-La Dialogue held from 31st May to 2nd June in Singapore.

This year 's Dialogue is marked as the 28th Asia Security Summit which was inaugurated by Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, the Prime Minister of Singapore with the attendance of ministers, top military officials and most important defence and security policy makers of some 40 countries.

The Shangri - La Dialogue serves as an important platform to discuss wide- ranging security aspects, fostering practical security cooperation among nations and arriving at fresh solutions.
