CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF PAYS FINAL RESPECTS TO MR GOMIN DAYASIRI (LATE); A SRI LANKAN LEGENDARY LEGAL ICON

Senior Constitutional lawyer and legal luminary Mr Gomin Dayasiri who passed away 1st (Friday) July 2022, was one of the most exuberant senior lawyers who voiced firmly and aptly in the national and international arena of the legitimacy, correctness and justification of the Sri Lankan Military during the 3 decades of war. With his explicit and unique way of projecting facts over the principles, he was instrumental in brokering the rightful recognition to the Sri Lankan Armed Forces amidst plethora of distorted, fabricated and inexcusable allegations by fractions akin to LTTE terrorists.

This veteran Constitutional lawyer and legal luminary appeared with the Sri Lanka Army in many cases of national significance throughout his lengthy legal career. He spearheaded the panel of legal expertise into critically visualizing, analyzing and projecting the realities and fact findings in response of the allegations coined against the Sri Lanka that led to fade away the clouded world opinion. Also, he was a distinguished mentor to the Sri Lanka Army, who transferred his wealth of knowledge and expertise to foster a professional, task oriented and specific corps of legal officers in the Sri Lanka Army.

My Mr Gomin Dayasiri was identified with the nationalistic stream of local politics and was a popular speaker at seminars and conferences on issues such as the ethnic problem, terrorism, the Constitution and other important issues. In furtherance, he actively voiced with regard to national issues and other issues affecting the people.
