DEFENCE OFFICIALS OF CHINA IN SRI LANKA CALL ON CDS

The Defence Attaché (DA) of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka, Senior Colonel Zhou Bo along with the Deputy DA Colonel Gao Bin called on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) morning today (14 September 2023).

Going by the military traditions respected over the years, the Defence officials of China made their first official visit where the two defence officials were warmly welcomed by the CDS in his office. Congratulating them for their appointments, the CDs shared his experience in the diplomatic engagements. The possibilities of enhancing the bilateral defence relations were also taken into discussion during the call on. The CDS further invited the DA and Deputy DA to discharge the duties and responsibilities to serve the best interests of the two Armed Forces and nations at large.

Both the visiting officers thanked the CDS for the opportunity and the guidance. They also requested continued assistance to discharge their duties and responsibilities in times to come.

The meeting terminated with a presentation of mementos to the DA and Deputy DA of China in Sri Lanka by the CDS.
