A DELEGATION FROM UNITED STATES OF AMERICA VISITS THE OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF
A four member delegation of State Department Democracy, Human Rights and Labour (DRL) from United States of America headed by Ms. Carmela Conroy, Director South and Central Asia, DRL visited the Office of the Chief of the Defence Staff on 07th April 2016.
The delegation participated for a meeting with Chief of Staff, Director General General Staff and a cross section of Director Generals and Directors of the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff. The meeting was held to discuss the Leahy Vetting process.
The delegation is in Sri Lanka from 04th to 08th April 2016 and scheduled to attend for meetings with Tri Services Commanders, training representatives of respective forces and officials of the MOD to discuss legal issues pertaining to cyber security, maritime security, Peace Keeping Operations and associated international legal issues.
