FAREWELL RECEPTION HOSTED IN HONOUR OF THE AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA

A farewell reception was hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Santhush Woonjin Jeong on the completion of his term as the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka and Maldives at the Official Residence of the Ambassador on 03 April 2023.

During the formal reception, the outgoing Ambassador thanked the guests for their participation and stated that he is very fortunate to serve in a nation like Sri Lanka. He further stated that the government of Sri Lanka worked positively with the Embassy where the bilateral relations were made stronger.

At the cordial invitation extended by the Ambassador, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil along with his spouse Mrs Sujeewa Nelson attended glamorous evening reception. During the interaction, the outgoing Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the CDS for the participation and the strong relations maintained with the embassy during his tenure at the office. General Shavendra Silva congratulated the Ambassador for his achievements during the term. He also expressed his wish that exchanges between the two countries will continue to grow in the future.

The reception was also attended by Diplomats, politicians, Government Officials, and distinguished dignitaries.
