HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT GRACES ANNUAL POLICE CHRISTMAS CAROLS

Coinciding with the festive season, the Sri Lanka Police hosted their annual Christmas Carols at the Police Grounds in Bambalapitiya. The gracious presence of His Excellency the President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Chief Guest added significance to the occasion.

At the invitation of the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Deshabandu Tennakoon, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), attended the event as the Guest of Honour with his spouse Mrs Sujeewa Nelson. The CDS conveyed warm congratulations to the Acting IGP and the presenters of the Police Christmas Carols for their exceptional choir performance.

The evening offered a unique experience to the audience as the Police Band delivered heartfelt renditions dedicated to Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. The event was coloured with many aspects that showcased the grace of Jesus Christ.

This gathering provided attendees with a delightful opportunity to embrace the Christmas spirit. Notable invitees, including Minister for Public Security Hon Tiran Alles, National Security Advisor Mr Sagala Ratnayaka, government officials, members of the Sri Lanka Police and many distinguished personalities were present irrespective of their religious beliefs.
