KOREAN AMBASSADOR TO SRI LANKA PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON THE CDS

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Miyon Lee along with the Defence Attaché to Sri Lanka based in New Delhi, Navy Captain Choi Yongseok paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil at his office today afternoon (05 October 2023).

The Defence Attache Navy Captain Choi Yongseok is on a visit to Sri Lanka from 04th to 06th October 2023 during which he will call on a number of dignitaries and defence hierarchies in the country.

The Chief of Defence Staff warmly welcomed the Ambassador and Defence Attaché shared thoughts on strengthening the bilateral defence interests benefiting the two nations. Whilst extending thanks for the support extended towards the country, particularly to the military at times of need, General Shavendra Silva assured the highest consideration to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea.

Thanking the CDS for the opportunity, the Ambassador conveyed her gratitude for the continued cooperation maintained. Her Excellency also stated that during her tenure, the embassy would ensure to explore every avenue to further strengthen the bilateral relations in different fields.

To mark the momentous occasion, the Chief of Defence Staff exchanged souvenirs with Her Excellency and the Defence Attaché of Korea.
