THE KOREAN NATIONAL DAY IS CELEBRATED IN COLOMBO

In line with the national day celebrations of the Republic of Korea, a reception was hosted in the evening hours today (6 Oct 23) at the Hotel Shangri-La, Colombo.

The reception, organized by the Korean Embassy featured a splendid array of traditional Korean events that encapsulated the pride and traditions of this friendly nation. It was a night that not only celebrated Korea's culture but also emphasized the strong bonds of diplomacy and camaraderie between the two nations.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil attended the glamorous evening at the invitation extended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Miyon Lee.

During the splendid evening, the CDS conveyed his gratitude for the invitation extended and wished the nation and its Armed Forces on their celebrations. He also commended the effort of the Embassy that ensured the continued strong relations maintained with the Sri Lankan Armed Forces.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea addressing the gathering highlighted the significance of the day and underscored the enduring friendship between Korea and Sri Lanka which reflected the warm diplomatic relations of both nations.

The National Security Advisor Mr Sagala Rathnayake, parliamentarians, a number of diplomats, Commanders of Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force, government officials, and many invited dignitaries attended the evening.
