MR. KAZUO MASUDA CABINET COUNCILLOR, NATIONAL SECURITY SECRETARIAT (NSS) IN JAPAN, CALLS-ON CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF ADMIRAL RAVINDRA WIJEGUNARATNE

Mr. Kazuo MASUDA Cabinet Councillor, National Security Secretariat (NSS) in Japan paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne on the Monday 23rd July 2018 at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) at BMICH. He was accompanied by an official from the National Security Secretariat, Mr Koji YAGI, Counsellor/ Deputy Head of the Mission and Mr. Atsuhiro Moroe, Security/Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Japan. A cordial discussion was held between the delegates on matters of mutual interest and defence cooperation. Mr. Masuda stressed the importance of Maritime Domain Awareness and ensuring the security of Indian Ocean Region for safe transiting of shipping as it connects the vital East and West Sea Lines of Communication. The two officials also discussed matters related to capacity building and maritime security cooperation in the region. Mementos were also exchanged subsequent to the discussion. Mr. Kazuo MASUDA is a graduate of Keio University in Bachelor of Law and has joined Japan Defence Agency – Operations Division, Bureau of Defense Policy in 1988. Subsequent to the various appointments held as Deputy Director level and Director level, he has been assigned with the present position in January 2014.
