NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY (NDU) DELEGATION FROM ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN CALLS ON THE CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF
A nineteen member delegation from the prestigious National Defence University (NDU) of Islamic Republic of Pakistan arrived in Sri Lanka on 24 April 2016 on a five day overseas study visit. The delegation led by Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt, President of National Defence University, Pakistan called on the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke on 26 April 2016 at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff. Head of the delegation was accompanied by the Defence Attaché of Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka. The delegation proceeded to attend a briefing on the Tri Forces employment and security situation of the country. This was followed by a discussion on Security Challenges to Sri Lanka after demise of LTTE with Chief of Staff, Director Generals and Directors of the OCDS. The discussion culminated with the exchange of mementoes to mark the visit. The delegation comprised of Tri Service senior officers from Sudan, Nigeria, Iran and Turkey besides Pakistan.
