NEW CHIEF OF DEFFENCE STAFF GENERAL CRISANTHE DE SILVA ASSUMED DUTIES ON 29 JUNE 2017
General A W J C De Silva RWP VSV USP ndu psc, newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) assumed duties on Thursday (29) morning as the fifth Chief of Defence Staff in the CDS office, BMICH, Colombo 7.
In honour of being elevated to the most senior appointment of Sri Lankan Armed Forces, General Crisanthe De Silva was accorded with a Tri-Services Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence ground premises.
The new CDS placed his signature on an official document in symbolizing the formal assumption of duties.
