NEW CHIEF OF STAFF OF SRI LANKA NAVY CALLS ON THE CDS

Following the esteemed tradition of military courtesy, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu the newly appointed Chief of Staff (COS) of the Sri Lanka Navy, paid a courtesy visit to General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) in his office today (12 March 2024).

General Shavendra Silva warmly welcomed Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake to the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS). During their meeting, the CDS extended congratulations and best wishes to the newly appointed Chief of Staff of the Navy for a successful tenure in his new appointment and gave necessary guidance to discharge the duties in the new responsible appointment for the betterment of the Sri Lanka Navy. Also, the CDS expressed confidence in his capacity and ability to meet the novel challenges in the present context.

In response, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake expressed gratitude for the warm reception and the opportunity to meet with the CDS. He sought continued guidance from General Shavendra Silva, the senior most serving officer, who has the enormous experience to perform his duties effectively for the betterment of the organisation.

Appreciating the customary gesture of the newly appointed Naval COS, General Shavendra Silva presented a memento to commemorate the occasion, which was graciously reciprocated by the visiting senior naval officer.
