NEW DEFENCE ATTACHÉ TO THE HIGH COMMISSION OF SRI LANKA IN LONDON CALLS ON CDS

Respecting the military traditions, the recently appointed Defence Attaché to the High Commission of Sri Lanka in London, the United Kingdom, Brigadier Wijayanath Jayaweera USP psc called on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) on 28 March 2023.

Extending a warm welcome, the CDS appreciated his respected military gesture before leaving the country. The CDS sharing his expertise during the dialogue advised the visiting Defence Attaché to work cooperatively with the relevant authorities to acquire the maximum benefits for the Sri Lankan armed forces.

Further, congratulating the Defence Attaché for his new appointment in London, the CDS highlighted the importance of the task he is entrusted with and advised him to discharge the duties and responsibilities so that the best interests of the country are diplomatically met.

The new Defence Attaché thanked the CDS for the shared knowledge and guidance whilst earnestly requesting continued support to successfully serve in the new appointment. The affable meeting ended with the warm wishes extended by the CDS for a successful tenure in the new appointment.
