NEWLY APPOINTED U.S. DEFENCE ATTACHÉ CALLS ON CDS

The newly appointed Defence Attaché to Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Travis Cox made his maiden visit to the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff today (24 July) and paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Admiral RC Wijegunaratne, together with the Deputy Defence Attache, Ms. Karin Gleisner.

Lieutenant Colonel Cox has served in many command and staff positions in the United States of America, Europe and Asia. He has conducted operational deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo. He has served at Embassies in Malaysia, India and Afghanistan. His most recent assignment was as the Director, Interagency and Interoperability at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk, Louisiana.

A cordial discussion was held between the two officials on matters of mutual interests.

CDS extended his best wishes to both of them and subsequent to the discussion mementos were also exchanged signifying the occasion.
